Recently bought 2000 deuce & like to know what the stock setting is. If i set it at the softest is there a certain # of turns it should be set at? Bought shop manual but it doesn't tell you much.

I'm not sure that there is a 'standard' setting for these. I have the 2005 Manual, and the way that is described you need to get a spanner wrench, (PN HD-94455-89) and then adjust the shocks to your desired setting.

Turn the adjuster plates out (toward the locknut) increases the spring preload to carry a heavier load.

Turning the adjuster plates in, (away from the locknut) decreases the spring preload to carry a lighter load.

I think you just kind of work with it until you get the setting you want.

I'm sure Glider will correct me if I'm wrong. :)
