Daytona Heat made horn sound funny

Sounds like the horn housing is loose (some have "displaced metal fasteners" holding it together), and when you install the cover, it warps the housing just enough to contact the diaphram inside. If it is the depressed metal type, you could use a hand punch tool and tap each one against a flat anvil if they are like rivets...in criss cross sequence, but it sounds like your gonna be beating a dead horse. Can't hurt in either case...

Went to O'rilley Auto Parts today and bought a stock replacement horn for a car. Put it on and problem solved!!! Still can't figure out how the old horn could work fine until mounted but for $16.47 I have it fixed. Harley wanted $39.95 for the same thing. I'm gonna let the garbage can have the old one.

Glad you got the problem eh...replaced. O'Reilly/Kragen replacement is a good idea, unit being made by Fiamm which is an OEM and aftermarket maker for many auto manufacturers.

Went to Harbor freight and bought a one piece air horn $49 and put it on in place of th original plenty loud.
