Crane hi4, S&S E model, '85 Ironhead

After the S&S I ran fine added a crane hi4 and voes and now.. woe is me. It fires up ok, but after a few revs I get backfires thru carb, think maybe I should rejet. Has anyone gone through this dilemma, and if so - what's the cure please.. thanks

Usually a spit back through the carb is caused by too lean a mixture / bad ignition timing /valve not fully closed

Looks like Fin's got you covered, I'd start with re jetting, thats most likely the culprit.

If the problem started directly after the VOES and Crane addition, I'm going with a timing issue. The VOES being the first thing to check.

Disable the Crane unit and see IF it run oK then do the above suggested by Bodeen...:s
