I bought a barnett clutch cable for my 2008 XL1200C. It will not screw into the primary cover, I think the diameter of the threads are to large. Ant suggestions?

Have you contacted manufacture to see if a additional fitting of some sort is available to fit cable into then into primary?

Contact where you purchased the cable first, asap. Then if necessary contact the manufacture, again asap. You should not need any adapters. It should fit your bike out of the box. Double check the fitment of the part # you purchased with what should fit your bike. Then it may be a case of the wrong part in the right package.

I would think if it's made for your bike it should be a direct fit without any adaptors. If adaptor was needed it should have been in the package.
