Wouldn't do it to his own. His buddy must have a repair shop. That place would be really scary.

I have been known to use a sponge and some warm soapy water on occasions an engine brush i have used degreaser applied with a brush
But i would never spray something on from a spray bottle as i would get the wrong stuff on the wrong place
I do use a well known brand of furniture polish
