Chrome polish stain on speaker cloth

I carelessly got some white chrome polish on the cloth cover on my speaker. I tried using a stiff parts cleaning brushing and some water thinking that would get rid of it. It looked like it did (that's because it was wet so it gave the appearance of being gone), but when it dried the stain was still apparent. Any tips or suggestions for removing that pesky smudge? Thanks a lot for your input.

If the speaker grill is removable, you should be able to take it to the sink and use a mild soap to remove the stain.

I just went out to the garage to check on the speaker grills and they are removable so that is what I will do. Thanks Glider. That was a much better solution than my buddies who said to just take some magic marker and color the white paste with it! I didn't want purple ink spots on my cloth cover!
