checking trans lube

I cant find the transmission dip stick on my 06 1200 custom, does it have one? should I use the sportster gear and chain case lube and how much? thanks

Hobbit I wish I would have had this advice before removing the clutch inspection cover to add the oil on a recent primary oil change. I fought the quad-ring seal on the clutch inspection cover for 45 minutes before getting it installed without a leak. The dealer was closed by the time I realized I should have bought a new quad-ring. Next time I will add the oil thought the primary chain inspection cover. I see no reason to check the oil level when the standard re-fill is one quart.

I just connect the funnel to a piece of flexible tubing and put the end of the tubing into the cover. This would be much better then disturbing the quad ring seal on the clutch inspection cover.
