Handy guide for checking out diodes, once in a while you will hit a diode that will check "OK" with a meter, but fail when loaded up in circuit under actual working conditions. Not often but it does happen. My father who has worked on electronics for over 60 years
(and still at it) told me years ago "all electronics are female"...good advice.
