Check engine light

I bought a brand new 2017 Roadster. I got 3 miles from the dealer and noticed the check engine light was still on. I brought it back and am waiting on the mechanic. Has anyone ever experienced this? Can I/Should I ask them to get me a replacement?

Not a very good start with a brand new scoot. Have them explain to you why it came on, it should have thrown a code.

Welcome from N W Georgia. Do as Jeff said and ask them if they fixed the issue or just cleared the code.

Thanks all. So, mechanic said it was a historic ECM code showing low voltage in the battery. He cleared the code, checked all wiring, tested the battery several times, ran it several times, and light has not come back on yet. He's keeping another day (which sux cause I really wanna ride). But better safe than sorry.

That was a great pre delivery inspection that you got there perhaps you want to consider going elsewhere when work is needing done on your bike
