Changed plugs and oil. Engine sluggish and engine running hot

I go with .040 and it seems to work for me, but I'm by no means an expert, just been lucky I guess. :s

For anything where there is a range i always try to be in the middle of the range and that gives you a wee bit of being off in either direction and still be within spec as not all measuring tools are as exact as we would want them to be

If you still have the old plugs and it ran fine with them, I'd put the old plugs back in and ride it for a while and see if that makes a difference. At least you'd rule out the plugs one way or the other.
