Carb vs Fuel Injenction

I have an 06 Road King with a carburator. I notice I have to press the ignition a few times to get it started or even use the choke. I don't mind but is this normal and are Fuel injected bikes more reliable than ones with Carburators? Does anyone know if a power commander is available for carbs and if so is it a good idea? One thing I do notice between Carb and FI is the sound.

the FI bikes are completely different a carbed bike has to suck the fuel in before it will fire hence the couple of prods to get it going.
FI is a pressurised system so fuel is premantely at the injectors.
the power commander is a Fuel mapping system for FI bikes only and is not available for a carbed bike.
Carbed bikes sound better IMO and carbs are again IMO nicer to work with when it come to tuning.
