I like my little Nikon CoolPix S3000. It was less then $50 buck (last years model). It takes great pic and video. So IMO, higher price does not mean better camera.
Besides, PhotoShop can fix a lot of picture taking errors now a days.
To me for a camera i look for a good optical lens i prefer a wide angle lens with a good optical zoom
mega pixel not so important to me as most of my pics are reduced in size to post on the Internet
