Breaking engine in

I've never used heat cycling on a new bike because by the time the customer gets the bike from the dealer, it's past it's life where heat cycling would be effective and they usually have some miles on them. It's more important at this time to load the rings so they seat in properly.

Ok, I guess I should have clarified, I am talking about when a total rebuild is done, including conecting rods, new oil pump, pistons and rings, valves, guides, etc., I used to build Shovelheads alot and that is how I used to break them in.
