brake/turn light requirements?

w/ all the bobber/chopper mods I see on custom bikes, I was wondering: what are (or where can I find) the requirements for brake and turn lights on the rear of a bike? Is it state specific?
 
update: I googled a few sights for FL MC laws & they're much more demanding than some of the actual bikes I see locally. Guessing it comes to more of an issue of enforcement.
