Brake light stays on

I have a 91 Softail and I just replaced the handle bars,ign switch,wiring, and rear tail light. When I turn the ignition switch on, the rear tail light turns on and stays on. Nothing happens when i hit the hand or foot brake. I connected 2 wires green/red for the tail light. I would assuem that the tail light is to stay on with the headlights but what ativated the brake light? Thanks.

Check the handle bar switch in the brake side. either broken the plunger or not installed correctly. Did you space the brake lever when reassembling it?

I did not install a spacer when I installed the lever. I will check it. Does the foot peddle activate this switch on the handle bars as well thru the wiring? I will keep you updated on my findings. Thanks.

2 separate switches but they both operate the same light. Check the plunger in behind the brake handle on the bars.
