Personally i would give it a try on 1 trip and see you may be fine.

Can you explain a little on what is meant by "Stage 1"?

I'll try to give you the Reader's Digest version of Stage 1. It involves any combination of a higher flowing air filter, fuel tuner, and less restrictive pipes. Done mostly by folks who want a different sound (pipes), cooler running motor, and/or more performance.
