Bluetooth GPS

When a GPS unit states that it's bluetooth enabled does that always mean that it will transmit the directions via bluetooth?

I can get a Nuvi for much cheaper than a Zumo. The Nuvi says that it's bluetooth, but only addresses that it will allow cell phones to call through the device. Will it transmit through my headset too?

Thanks

Which model Nuvi do you have would help us determine what will work. Your instruction manual said it would "talk to a cell phone", and since the GPS only transmits voice commands, one would think that it would talk to an earphone. Most Bluetooth devices will recognize Bluetooth devices in the area, but will only communicate with the device address you assign it to sync with. Just don't lose that instruction manual, else in the future you change earphone or telephone device.

It should work fine, but we really need to know which model of Nuvi and headset you are trying to "sync". You will need to have the instruction manuals because they usually have the basic address or ID device info to enter...like a password. Without them you are toast, because they are often unique like your specific IP address on the Internet.
