AUX plug on radio wiring

I've read several threads on GPS and MP3 installations where the AUX plug is wired with a 90 degree connection. The wire then run back into the bat wing. When that was done, did you have to remove any of the lip around the radio of just pop the radio out and then lay the wire and put the radio back in.

I ran mine over to the opening for the bars before going inside the fairing. You see a little more of the wire, but that doesn't bother me.

That is what I did, I fed the wire through from one side of the bars to the other side and just routed to the radio jack. You are able to pull the inner fairing cap open enough to tuck the wire inside.

Loosened the radio and slid back just far enough to get the 90 degree end through, it is not real tight and will not pinch the cable.

I did this. No trimming. There is enough give.
