Are FLHX Saddlebags waterproof?

I've tried searching using many different terms, but have not found this. I have a 2009 FLHX and am wondering if the contents of my saddlebags will remain dry when i'm caught in a rain downpour? Or is there a product available to keep my contents dry?

    Thanks for the help.

Thanks Smitty. I didn't know if there was some type of elasticized cover for the top of the bag (like a shower cap).

I had to drill a hole in mine for the ice to drain out.

No saddlebags are water-proof, they are however quite water resistant. To ensure dry contents, many opt for the HD Nylon Liners made for their specific model or if you have specific items that must be dry, use heavy duty freezer bags. You also want to open them up and allow the contents to dry if they were subject to CONDENSATION (for instance if you bring your bike in from the cold and wet to nice warm and dry garage...humidity inside the bags could condense and ruin the contents with mildew and other malaise, so do your diligence.
