I know a gent who bought a new stock 2002 Ultra Classic. Then he added 12K to 15K in accessories. Rode it a total of 19K miles. This machine was always kept nearly pristine.
Sold it for 12.5K outright.
Now I find this interesting and educational. He then bought a new 2010 Whiz Bang By Golly Ultra Classic Limited with the 103 engine. This newest Ultra Classic Limited cost only 1K more than what he paid for the 2002 stock twin cam 88 Ultra Classic in 2002.
Supply and demand apparently sets the stage for these business scenarios.
