A new sporty issue....

Had the same issue on a 2005 after a fill-up. Used a gas additive to fix the problem worked fine. Worth a try and easy to do. The additive I used had a dryer component as well as a cleaner.

J.P.B. welcome to the HDTimeline forum and your first post. Yes, fuel additive like Sea Foam, Berryman's Chemtool (4 to 8oz per gallon or two is usually enough concentration to help clean the fuel system, or break up congealed varnish so it can be induced and burned.

As been said before, draining the fuel bowl and if necessary the fuel tank, cleaning or replacing the inlet filter/fuel petcock assy should be on your list if a fueling system problem is suspected. I also pull the air cleaner, and check that the accellerator pump is pushing a strong stream of fuel when the throttle is twisted. If bike is running, spray so Gumout/Chemtool aerosol Carb Cleaner to clean slide, passages and such without stalling the engine, as part of the diagnostic cleaning service.
