'94 883 running problem

Looking at a '94 883 to buy for my wife.
When the engine is idling, the front cylinder is not firing very often.
When the engine is shut down the front cyl. is not hot.
I know it could be several things such as the plug, wiring, plug wire, coil and stator.
Anything else?
Does the stator control/time the fireing of the plugs?
And if it may be the stator, how much do they cost?
Thanks.

Stator is for charging doesnt control timing or firing of plugs just to recharge battery

Could be an intake leak for the front cylinder.
Like Bud said above, the stator is just for making power to charge the battery.
I would be very cautious buying it unless it's diagnosed first as to what the problem is.

Good for you, don't buy something that is someone elses headaches unless you know what the problem is and what it takes to fix it.
