Well after about a month of research and checking everything I can through the primary I cleaned and re-torqued with no success. The comp sprocket assembly looked good, the clutch basket looked good also. The chain is adjusted properly but I am still gettin a knock when off throttle. No problem at idle, plenty of power/torque while ridin and when I accelerate or pull the clutch in the knock disappears. It was mentioned in a previous reply to look for rotor wobble - I did notice that the rotor did wobble after the comp assemble was removed and I was able to remove the rotor with some effort but without a puller. Not sure what to check next. Any ideas? Thanks - 91 FXR

OK, and the rotor teeth (splines) looked OK? The rotor WILL rock when the compensator is loose or off. You checked the inside of the rotor and the magnets were all in place? And when you had the rotor off, the stator was secured in place with 4 fasteners?

Does the bike make the noise only when moving, or does it make the noise when the tranny is in neutral and you increase the throttle and let off/pull in the clutch?

TQ - I will double check the rotor spline and magnets - the rotor does have a wobble to it after the comp sprocket assembly is off but I would think that is because it does not have anything securing it at that point. The knock only is when the bike is moving - when in neutral I can throttle up with no issues.
