Working on a buddies 89 softtail we had the tins painted and changed out the key switched on the dash. Everything seems to work fine but when i tried to start it there is no spark out of the coil. there is power to both of the terminals at the coil though, is this correct? Are there any diagrams some one may be able to refer me to that i can read. Thanks for any help im new to the site and i am very mechanical and good with electrical just figured if i had a diagram to go off of it would save alot of time. Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum, here's a 91 system might help? Are you shure the switch is wired the same as before w/jumper wire? And I think both sides of the coil should be hot, look for something that might have got unpluged, good luck

Did you switch out the ign. with an identical one? what was wrong with the old one, can you plug it in and try it?

Have you checked the resistance of the plug wires to make sure those are good?
