Note: The first photo refers to a "manufacturing plug, that is not to be removed". We need someone to detail location of the plug, so we can warn 2017 owners this is NOT the drain plug (like the crankcase plug on twin cams).
Dolt; Thank you so much for supplying this information, much appreciated. Jack, thanks for posting it.

Right side front corner of oil pan facing front of bike, it is inverted hex plug, the tranny and oil drain are on the left side, the oil drain faces forward, the tranny plug is straight down

Thanks to Dolt and Jack for the info on the new motor! Anxious to see more reviews from you guys that have pulled the trigger on a 2017.

So far I am impressed with the power and less heat, The lack of clunking is Amazing, no more waiting for engine light to go out before starting, scanning for codes remains the same. They have cleaned up inside both side covers, wiring is much cleaner, the tender connection looks more stout, the primary cover is at least 1 1/2 inches narrower giving your feet more room easier to shift, the tranny is QUIET, the new and improved clutch release is smooth, tho the friction point is a bit further out
