2013 Softail reduced power

I have a 2013 Softail Heritage Classic for the UK
Sometimes it has reduced power when accelerating, it sounds & feels weird as though it is firing on one cylinder, but I have been told by the dealer the exhaust gases go through one pipe, it sounds & feels knackered to me. Harley Davidson & the dealer tell me it is to curb the noise & emissions to satisfy European regulations. Has anyone else had anything similar?

The info you've been given is right. There's a valve in one of the exhausts which closes when the rpm reaches a certain speed, thus closing off one of the exhausts and choking the engine.

Get your bike stage 1 tuned and fit a new exhaust.

My 2013 FLSTC is stage 1 with V&H staggered big shots exhaust. Goes and sounds much better, except for a popping noise on deceleration.
