2009 EG Standard pipe breakage

I've had my 2009 for exactly 12 months and have done a whopping 4500km (2790 miles). I've been quite pleased with it apart from the mismatched rear guard paint that had to be fixed early on.

Yesterday I was returning from a 400 km run when I noticed an increase in exhaust noise. I stopped and at first thought the right hand muffler had come loose, but no. What had happened is that the exhaust had sheared just ahead of the valve in that section of the exhaust . The cable was the only thing keeping it up and that was getting melted on the crossover.

Has anyone else had this problem? The steel in the pipe at that point looked awfully thin. Do the US models even have this valve?

Me too, Y pipe cracked on my last EG, I just welded it up cause it wasn't under warranty and had access to a TIG welder.
