I have an 07 FXSTB and I had a fuel line in the fuel tank rub through on the inside of the tank. It created a HISSING sound when the ignition switch was turned on allowing fuel pressure to go back into the tank. This only seemed to do it when it was run for a while. When cold and first starting in the morning I did not notice it. It could have been the fuel warming up in the tank after riding softening the plastic fuel line allowing it to leak under pressure. (?????) It did seem to run OK but was starting harder. Maybe if I had let it go much longer it would have dropped fuel pressure too much to have caused it to starve for fuel (no fuel pressure) and caused it not to run or run poorly.
I have had it repaired and all is working fine now. I had 6000 miles on the bike when this happened.
