1980 FLT Running Bad

My FLT starts to spit through the carburetter after it warms up a while and running at a constant speed. I was wondering if the coil is going bad. How can I check this?

TIA,
Michael

I agree try flushing the carb first most bike and 4 wheelers with carbs like this tend to collect curd in the bottom you might have to take the float bowl off epending on how bad it is .

That's a symptom of the intake manifold seals going bad.A bike that age should be looked at on a regular basis for aging parts.Does it still have the stock exhaust? Not relevant but I like the one year only exhaust and know a guy who wants one bad.

Thanks for all the replies.

Tried to post an answer before but I don't know what happen to the post?

Found the problem, it is the float overfill value. It does not always shut off the gas to the intake chamber and causes an overfill in the intake chamber.

Looking for some help on finding a service manual on this carb. It is a Zenith Andpro Carburetor, 1971 to 1975. Number 13859. Would like to find a manual to help fit this problem. TIA guys.

Michael
