1957 FL Rigid Frame Engine

I just picked up a project bike. It is a 1957 FL rigid frame chopper. The problem is I cant afford to put an original panhead motor in it, so I am looking for any help/comments on what other harley engines or aftermarket v-twins will fit the existing motor mount layout, frame size and driveline.

I've been told a shovel head should bolt right into a pan frame. I think an EVO is a little taller but the bolt patten is the same to the frame.

A Shovelhead will bolt right in, a EVO is to tall unless the frame is modified.
