08 Fat Boy gas tank removal

If you don't need to move it too far out of the way, you can use the quick disconnect on the left side of the tank (manual said to pull the fuse for the fuel pump first and fire her up to get rid of any pressure in the line - not sure how much pressure is really there, but I did it just in case), and pull the bolt... I was able to slide it up and over to the side enough to install the TFI connectors on the injectors (have the 08 fat boy as well).

Good advice scts. There's a bit short of 50 lbs fuel pressure in the fuel rail so doing the fuse removal/crank engine is a good idea. You don't need to remove the tank, just remove the front and rear bolts and prop the tank up with something to give you enough room to work. Just remember not to force the tank upwards with the fuel line attached on the left side because you will break the end off and it's $42 to replace it.

No, at the most just a few drops but always pull the fuel pump fuse and crank the engine to make it easier/safer. Always disconnect the link when installing the TFI because it's a $45 mistake if you break the plastic end fitting on the fuel line.
