05 superglide question

I have installed chrome sliders on my '05 Superglide. Since then I have noticed a "clunk" in the frontend. I checked all the fasteners and they are torqued to factory specs. Did I miss something while assembling the forks? The "clunk" happens most frequently when the front tire seems to be coming off a bump or dropping off my front porch, a 2 inch drop.
Thanks in advance!

I haven't yet. I read about the clunk in the Wide Glide and torqued my steering head bolt to 100# but the clunk was still there. I just figured any looser would still clunk.

It's not like the softail models, the WG uses a different setup that is similar to the touring bikes with the adjuster nut under the tree and the lock nut on top of the tree. The problem with the WG is the movement between the two nuts. If you outline the top nut with a marker and then remove the nut and rough up the area under where the nut sits within the marker lines, it will usually get a better grip and not clunk then.
