Alternative to Saddle Bags
I am looking for something other than saddle bags. I naturally need something to carry my stuff in but dont really want the saddle bags. I was looking at the quick release rack. Has anyone used that on the Sportster? Although I dont consider myself a helpless female I am kinda lost on this. I want to have some idea before I wander into the Harley store and they want to see me the store.

Re: Alternative to Saddle Bags
When I have to carry a fair amount of stuff, I just wear a backpack. If I only have a few things like glasses, wallet etc, I have a magnetic tank bag.

Re: Alternative to Saddle Bags
Try lickscycles.com they have a really cool solo bag that fits on the left side between the the side cover and shock. It is an alternative to conventional saddlebags that might work out for you.

Handel bar or windshield mounted small leather pouch is a good start. Take a look at some of the Tourmaster products if you have a short back rest or put one on they make some bags that slip on and off in a minute and hold a lot. On my FB I use one that has a removable round top section. If I do not need to carry a lot I just take the top part two bugy cords ant away you go. if you need to carry more you can use the lower part alone or with the top section. I can pack for a week with it . When you get were you are goingit comes off quickly. This web site shows a few of them to give you and Idea what I am talking about. I DO NOT recommend them. The prices they show are alot higer than An HD dealer for the same thing. Tourmaster Sissy Bar Bags Sold At Discount Prices

Re: Alternative to Saddle Bags
I have my sissy bar bag on the passenger seat attached to the sissy bar all the time.I never have a passenger anyway. It holds an extra L/S shirt,a jacket , water and anything else I might think of for an all day ride.

My sister uses the round top section of one on her fatboy just straps it behind the seat. For day long rides. I can pack for a week with it . When you get were you are goingit comes off quickly.
