make sure you have enough cable both brake/clutch/throttle and electrics and that when installed that the switches do not hit the tank.

So is there a specific sweep, rise, length and diameter?

Re: Drag Bars for Nightster

a proper drag bar is a piece of stainless steel 1" in dia and very narrow so you keep you front profile slim for racing.

modern drag bars are still flat but have a certain amount of pull back built in for some road comfort and are still slim but are more ergonomic - go to a dealer and check out the night train and fat bob both have the modern twist on drag bars, you will also notice that they have around 6" risers so the bars and controls clear the tank.
some drag bars like the flyin V from Arlen Ness have the pull back risers built in and come in fat bar form ie the bar is 1.25" or 1.5" compared to the 1" standard, they remain 1" for the controls and grips.
Your choice will need ou to go check them out go to bike meets and see what drags are being run by others.
