Why no XL883 in 2009?

I see the standard 883 is gone from the HD lineup in 2009. Any idea why they did this?

I think the 883 Standard sells quite well over here in the UK, so we still get it in 2009. I can't understand why we keep 8 models but lose the best one -1200Roadster.

Re: Why no XL883 in 2009?

hmmm... that stinks cause I selected the standard version when I bought mine. Reason I bought this one was because I felt the most comfortable\natural on it given it has a very upright position, much like a dirtbike, which made me feel much more in control for handling potential tight spots in traffic and such. The L or C was wayyy too leaned back... tougher to handle for me.

I can see why the other version outsell it given the L or C are more cruiser~ish in design but... as I said... thats what I dig about the standard.. it is unique, more upright\aggressive looking for a cruiser type machine.

Acording to a dealer's salesman yesterday ( read possably unreliable ), there will be an 883 nightster in 2009.

Likely because the 883 won't meet the new emission standards for 2010!!
