Lower Sportster

My wife would like a sportster but does not like the colors available in the 883 low models. Whats the best way to lower a sporster? can you lower the 1200 to get it as low as the 883? she is ony 5'2" 115lbs. Before we swithed to H-D she had a Honda VLX and liked it.

Re: Lower Sportster

yes you can lower any sportster as far as you want to go but it will alter the way the bike handles.
HD sell a lowering kit for all sportster to bring them down to the level of the low models, it consists of new low profile rear shocks and shorter fork stanchions and internals.

Re: Lower Sportster

Plus you can use a low profile seat too. I saw some guy at the dealer switching out the seats and found one that let him plant both feet on the ground. I'm 5.10 and I can stand up on my Nightster and not be even close to touching the seat. Yeah I know the Nightster is lowered. Just makeing a low profile seat point.
