Re: Post A Pic Of Your Sporty Here
Thanks? That means a lot. I love the white Sporty! Leather up the tank always looks great. Yeah.... the Sporty's my first and I don't think I'd ever get rid of her even if I moved to a bigger bike eventually. The only thing I ever miss is a 6th gear. Other than that it's "perfect"!

Re: Post A Pic Of Your Sporty Here
I was only bringing it's existence to the attention of the subject. She was already aware of it and brought to my attention that it wasn't compatible with her MY.
I don't know if it's worth it. The cost/benefit ratio would have to be evaluated by the owner of a Sporty. I haven't researched this product in-depth, either. I just knew it existed, so I presented it. I wouldn't think that for too much more than the cost of the 6-speed, one could trade up to a Super Glide, but some Sporty riders like their Sportys too much for that option. To each their own.

Re: Post A Pic Of Your Sporty Here
Frankly, if '02 Sporty has similar gearing to the '04 Sporty I ride, gearing is already pretty high in 5th...feels like the engine is "lugging" if going less than 70mph.
JMO but a 6th gear would probaby be "wasted" by me, as sometimes I like to leave it in 4th when cruising anything less than 65mph, for that reason. Especially if all the others remain the same, and at such a high price...I would leave well enough alone. Mz Bling...if vibes are a problem, I would put good aftermarket slip-ons over the stock HD header pipes with the cross-over with BigLew's setup, there are ones made by V&H, Pythons, or SE (HD dealer) and get carb (especially if stock HD one) the slightly richer size jetting, raising the needle using #4 washers as Glider & Hobbit suggested. Once there what little vibes remain can be controlled with the "bar snake" and while your at it, possibly change the bar to something adding leverage and feeling more comfortable to you, I am sure everything will be close to your ideal with these easy and relatively minor mods.

Re: Post A Pic Of Your Sporty Here
Hey! I'm really digging all of this input. Great information here!
Having a 6th gear to me is not about vibration. My bike feels great. I have 2 into 1 Pythons with an S&S carb & air cleaner. What I'm feeling is more of a "sound" issue. As a singer by profession it's a sound thing. It sounds too high (RPM's) when I'm around 75 on the freeway. I'm always trying to kick in the 6th gear but it's not there (like my husband/Craig's Street Glide. His bike sounds so "settled" on the freeway around 80 but I feel like mine is "winding" out!) The "Baker" only goes to an '03 and not later - maybe because after 04 it went to a rubber mounted etc... I'm still learning...... Does that make sense? Maybe "Baker" or someone else will address this issue in the future. You guys are great Thanks Mz Bling
