Clutch Problem
I have a '71 Sportster 1200. When I squeeze the clutch, right at the end it feels like it pops and there is a thump coming in the transmission housing. Any ideas what could be causing this??

Re: Clutch Problem
Could be a bad cable or a problem in the clutch itself. Best to open up the primary and check it out.

Re: Clutch Problem
Thanks. It has me confused for two reasons. Firstly because it shifts fine when I'm riding (other than the sound and the clutch grip not squeezing smoothly), and secondly because I have no diagnostic skill what so ever
. I do enjoy trying to fix things myself as a means of getting to know my vehicles, and usually do an ok job. I will check out the things you recommended. Thanks again!
