Sportster Seats

Anyone know if a seat from a 883L will fit a "04" XL883? The HD book doesn't list it as fitting. If both bikes have the peanut tank, why not? Thanks!

Re: Sportster Seats

are they both 04 bikes?
if so the seats hould swap out as the L model has the reach seat as standard and the normal 883 has the normal solo seat
problems occur when trying to fit the C model seats and the FI seats they are not interchangable

Re: Sportster Seats

Thanks Hobbit! The "low" is an "06" my XL883 is an "04". Neither fuel injected, so they just might work then.....

I'm thinking maybe the 96-03 seats would fit mine also?

I think that the '06 low has a larger seat from the factory but I could be wrong. I know my '06 1200 low came with the larger tank.

96-03 seats NO they have a different frame 04-06 as long as you have the peanut tank not an issue

the low models by there very nature wont have a larger seat, they will be fitted with the reach seat and short suspension.
the 1200L models in the UK only got the bigger tank in 2007 when they went FI the carbed ones still had the peanut tank and the only bikes to get the peanut tank on the FI models were the Nightster and the 883/883L and now the new iron
