Hi,
I need to replace both intake gaskets on my bike.
I was hoping to get some kind of procedure to R+R intake gaskets.

Thanks!

Re: sporster 883 99

i have never done it on the earlier sporty but on the 06 rubber i had it was a night mare getting at the bolts.
Best thing to do is get the manual for thebike, this will help even tho its for the rubber mounted motor the carb area is still the same

the solid mount evo sportys are a pain to get the mount bolts off as there is very limited access to get the allen key into the head of the bolts
you can cut the short end of the allen shorter and it'll get in or use a long reach ball ended, to get some leverage short piece of pipe on the short end and some foul language and they come out
best thing to do on reassembly is to change bolts for ones with standard hex head then its easy to slip an open ended spanner on to them next time
