Backfiring when Starting

My bike (08 Heritage) is backfiring when I start it first thing in the morning or after it has been sitting awhile.

Any suggestions, tried searching the forum for a similiar problem, no luck.

Re: Backfiring when Starting

Could be a number of things like bad gas, bad temp sensor or this time of the year with colder temps and lean mixtures on the bikes. it will start backfiring even more.

my '07 FXST did that quite often before I put the Thunder Max W/ Autotune on it. Do you have any Mods? Pipes, Air cleaner, EFI tuner?

I've got 3,000 miles on a stock 08 Heritage, 70 to 80 degrees and mine started backfire on startup just this week.

Re: Backfiring when Starting

if it just started I'de look into the simple things. Air filter, spark plugs, Bad gas, maybe even spark plug wires.
