Some of us have learned thehard way
IF and I say IF iwas going to put loud pipes on my RG I would go with Rineharts.
Thats just me I like the way they sound and look other swear by Vance and Hine.
I might add that it is a good idea to stay away from any exhaust chnage were you change the headers. Life starts to get more confusing at that point and the cost start to rise quickly.
There maybe a time and reason to go the the two into one type setups and some of the other more aggresive pipes but if you just want bark and a bit of a kick slipons are best way to go IMO.

Re: 2008 heritage pipe ques

I installed Rush mufflers with 2 inch bafflers on my 08 heritage and the sound was ok but had a high pich to it so I pulled the packing out and the sound is a whole lot better. My question is will running the bike without the packing hurt it?

Re: 2008 heritage pipe ques

The packing gives backpressure and removing it will decrease the backpressure possibly leaning out the AFR. Lean can do damage if run long enough and it's lean enough.

Loaded question: If it were my bike I would be concered with to much flow and at least a need to enrich the fuel some.
I know that just a set of slipons does not require an adjustment to fuel.
(because something is not required does not mean it is not a good idea)
But going to 2 inch and removing packing is ,IMO opening it up a bit to much to try and get by without some fuel.
It may also lead to some power loss on the low end.

That was enough for me. Just went and put the packinng back in. I was looking at getting a set of Sampson duels. Their wbesite has a heritage with them and they look good but does anyone know how they sound?
