After 20 years of rice burners, I bought my first Harley last year. I planned that the first modification I would do would be to take off the heal shifter. I never got around to that project and I'm glad I didn't. It seems so much more natural now than shifting with the toe.

I have been riding for 26 years and couldn't ride if I was forced to heel shift!

I didn't like mine when I first got my 97 Fatboy. But after riding it for a while I have grown accustomed to using it, but I still do the first to second shift with my toe.
