Springer Tire Removal

I need to have a flat fixed on my lady's 99 softail springer (front), any hints on getting front tire off ? There is a bracket that goes from hub where axle goes through to inside brake caliper. I didnt want to start pulling bolts and take apart caliper if I dont have to. If anyone has info. It would be appreciated. Or knows a cite that gives directions.
