key fob problems

Is there a battery in the key fob?

Have an 09 Heritage that doesn't seem to be recognizing the fob. I had to disarm it manually today to go for my ride. Any help would be useful......

Re: key fob problems

I think they would have to have a battery. Do you have a second fob, my bike came with two. Did you try your second fob if you have one? Also, I had a problem parked near a convenience store one time, I had to disarm it manually. I'm thinking it had something to do with their security system.

Re: key fob problems

Yes they do, just like a car fob.

Re: key fob problems

It is a good idea to get into a habit of changing them every second year.
Much cheaper to buy the batteries at a watch store then the dealer.

I think it is a CR3202. You can get them at pharmacies also in a two pack.
