Alarm

I just bought a 2006 Softail Std. I want to enter a personal code, but the instructions they give you don't really click with me. Can somebody tell me what to do? Thanks

Re: Alarm

Hopefully it's the same, In my '07 owners manual it says to assign a pin by:

pick a 5 digit number (ABCDE)
turn ignition key on-off-on-off-on quickly
left turn signal 3 times
right turn signal 1 time
turn signals should flash 3 times, the current pin should show with the first
digit flashing.

enter 1st digit (call it A) by pressing left signal A time(s)
press right signal to set 1st digit (new A replaces old A in pin number)

enter 2nd digit (call it B) by pressing left signal B time(s)
press right signal to set 1st digit (new B replaces old B in pin number)

repeat for numbers 345 represented by CDE in your pin
after setting E, turn off key before the security module rearms to set the
new 5 digit code.

and welcome to the forum!

Re: Alarm

You're welcome. I guess saying,
"enter 1st digit (call it A) by pressing left signal A time(s)" may not be totally accurate.

More like press the left signal button until your "A" number shows. Say you picked 6,
and it was set as 2 by the dealer, if you clicked it 6 times then it would be wrong.

Re: Alarm

When you get into setting mode it will/should show the current pin number. The H-D default is something like 31313 or 13131
