rocker muffler

I don't care for the cheap looking way that the heat shields are held onto the stock mufflers on my 2008 rocker. My question is, Can a person remove the heat shields off of the stock mufflers on a 2008 rocker, without it looking tacky, or creating any other problems?

Re: rocker muffler

Don't think you would like the look of the stock pipes without the shields.

Re: rocker muffler

Add to the fact that heat shields are there to protect rider or passenger from burning hot muffler/pipe (especially with todays modern lean mixtures and some cases catalytic converters (reburned gas mixture already hot to the extreme).

leave the stocks well alone if you remove the shields it will be all discoloured and looked really bad, i assume you have seen the colours pipes/mufflers go when the heat discolours them.
Look up by the cylinder heads and you will see golds/blues/purples this will be from one end to the other, its discolouration from the heat, no imagine what your clothes/legs would look like if the shields were not in place?
