Re: Ignition Module

Personally the HD is like a tractor (in a good way!) not made to pound into the dirt. With all the technology/metallergy infused into it, it is still a high stress motor with intensional "loping" "offbalance" cadence and when used as a dragster is certainly not going to last with two heavy slugs the size of your coffee cup slamming up and down between your legs. Kinda refresshing to see Kemo reflecting my thoughts on the subject, coming from the metric side of the house...(don't beat me up)...I prefer my Harley, because the heart that beats inside just "rocks".

Re: Ignition Module

im a bit late to this party but i saw my name mentioned up top
my motor has over 3K in it and yes it will happily rev to 7000rpms but i dont, why you may ask - i dont need to, infact my limiter currently is a little low at 5700rpm as in the 1st 4gears i can happily hit this - 4th=120mph, 60 comes up in around 3secs there abouts if i can hook up the tire.
If you have stock heads and cams you really really dont want to beating the motor anymore than 5500rpms as the valve springs really dont like that much stress and on a stock motor you are more less out of the power band as stated at 5000rpms, even with a stage1 you dont want to be running it anywhere near the limiter as its a waste of fuel and you dont really make any more power.
