taking a poll

Just wanted to know if there is a correct way of getting on and off the scoot. I had a guy chew me out that I was getting on the bike from the wrong side. Is there such a thing? I get on that is most comfortable for me and where I have the best control.

Re: taking a poll

Have back rests on both bikes, can't swing a leg over. From right side, raise my left foot and hold it up (getting old is bad) and slide across. Works great for me.

Re: taking a poll

It's just easier IMO to get on from the stand side being it's leaning that way anyway.

When you get older and your hips don't work like they did when you were young, you pick the side that works and ignore the painful side. Wish I was still flexible like you young whipper snappers

Jake, me being middle-aged and suffering from chronic pain I know exactly what you mean, so I agree that we have to do "whatever works!!"

But Glider makes a great point about getting on the stand side....it's leaning towards the rider and so is a bit lower, and also gives the rider the advantage of having a little more control of the weight of the bike as he swings it a bit during mounting and putting the stand up.

That said, ultimately there is no right or wrong, and to the OP: Don't let anybody give you a hard time for how you mount your steed.....if it works for YOU, (safely), that's all that matters.
