Trail of Tears Annual Ride

The rides honor members of the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole nations removed from their native lands east of the Mississippi River under the Indian Removal Act of 1830. They were forced to move to Oklahoma in 1838 on a route now known as the Trail of Tears because 4,000 of them died on the journey.

For more information on the ride coming through Huntsville and Madison visit the Web site or call 800-648-5381.

This is a clip from the Huntsville Times about the Trail of Tears Ride. This is the largest organized Bike ride in the world, Guessis world record.

If you have not ever seen this it is a site to see. Rode on it for several years, not with the ride but ahead of them with my chair and camera. The first year I thinki the estimate was somewhere around 90k bikes.

If anyone is going, be safe and have a good time.
